From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, fiends, and malevolent powers growing in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of characters who will branch out from the main group to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might look out of place, but the developments of the third episode demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise started the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his own means, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their status as key figures in House Halovar could enable the group access places they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter swore a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the powerful family and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to travel to the northern region in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
According to the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will not appear next week, leaving the other eight participants to round up the Questers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can expect finding out which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
